Cubs seem poised to enter great arms race

Slowly but surely, the Cubs have stockpiled and developed high-profile, high-upside bats.

Prospects Javier Baez and Arismendy Alcantara have already been summoned to The Show to complement the likes of Anthony Rizzo and Starlin Castro at the big league level. The likes of Kris Bryant, Jorge Soler, Addison Russell, Albert Almora and Kyle Schwarber aren’t too far behind. While names like Billy McKinney, Dan Vogelbach and Victor Caratini are still in the developmental phases, lurking in the weeds.

Still, one refrain has remained prevalent throughout this process.

“Where is the pitching?”
